Dr. Facilier: Witch Doctor Outfit

Dr. Facilier - Disney's vibrant Voodoo Villain

Dr. Facilier - Disney's vibrant Voodoo Villain

Overall a very simple costume, but also has small details that you don’t want to miss!  Gotta be tall, skinny, and lanky to pull this look off!  Clothing itself is fairly simple, but to get the look of Dr. Facilier right, you can use some basic makeup tricks.  This disney villain is very dark and has pointy features, so you can use a little bit of makeup to help bring out those features.  Play around with penciling your eyebrows to get that dashing look the he has, as well as adding some thin black eyeliner to bring out the craze in your eyes.  He also has dark lids, so may even want to darken those up with some eyeshadow depending on your skin tone and color.  He also has a prominent gap inbetween his front teeth, so a little tooth paint in the middle (VERY THIN LINE!!!) would help get that look as well.  Spruce up this costume with a pack of custom made tarot cards and a couple little voodoo dolls AND YOU’RE READY!

NOTE:  Did anyone catch the pun?

Prince Naveen: Various Outfits

Prince naveen - Disney's New Prince of Maldonia

Prince naveen - Disney's New Prince of Maldonia

Prince Naveen wears 3 outfits throughout the movie…a new record for Disney Princes. He wears his super princely white garb with poofy sleeves, his New Orleans jazz vest outfit, and his Lily pad bayou inspired wedding outfit.

NOTE:  Notice how if you look REALLY close on the image in the center, that the prince has blue eyes.  If you have seen the movie you will know why, but just to clarify…the Prince’s eyes are actually brown in both human AND frog form.

Princess Tiana: Ball Gown

Tiana - Disney's First African American Princess

Tiana - Disney's First African American Princess

This is the dress that Princess Tiana wears to the masquerade in the beginning of the movie, where she first meets Prince Naveen in frog form.  This is a “Cinderella-blue” dress, where you can either make it in white, silver, or a light blue and be able to pull it off just fine.  Reccomended color would be a silverish-blue, as that is what it looks like, though it is hard to tell since most of the images are taken in night time scenes.  One detail of this version of her costume that we think is funny that her necklace looks very similar to Pocahontas’s mother’s necklace.  So keep that in mind when bead hunting!  The crown is very simple, but you will see that there are TWO VERSIONS of the crown.  The one that she actually wears in teh movie has three interlaces triangles, while the one she wears in the official movie trailer image (second on the top right) has SEVEN triangles total.  Make sure to make the one with three triangles!  This crown could easily be made with some styrene plastic, or metal if you are super crafty!  Top off the look with long satin gloves, blue sash, and NO OTHER JEWELERY and you are set to go to be  Disney’s newest princess!

NOTE:  You could probably find a really basic prom dress and add the accessories to make this costume if you are not sewing-savvy.  You would just need to add the sash and acessories!  Check thrift stores for the dress as well, you might get lucky and find a cheap one!

We fell in love with this dress the second we saw it!  A fully themed wedding dress for Princess Tiana based on lily pads in the bayou.  This is the dress that she is wearing at the end of the movie when she turns back from a frog into a human.
